With Turbo and Super charging you can create massive horsepower with vw motors.

congratulation. nice curve. that is exactly what the compressor map is telling, i bet @~18/19 psi at peak torque.
you can see that it is choking, your peak hp rpm is gone from 6300 rpm to 5700rpm. did he try less boost to get that rpm back or less boost and ramp it up when the boost starts falling? enjoy driving it 250hp is alot for a buggy.

I don´t know how he tuned it, i was at work. He says it has come alive, verry alive. :-)

We are aware that this is pushing the limits of the turbo. But that was the goal, 250hp.

Not much more power left in that little snail, next upgrade will be header and bigger turbo.

Someday !

Bummer for you...we had a weekend rain a couple weeks ago that gave us an inch of needed rain but it's been hot and dry since then.
It's great buggy driving weather over here and I've been taking advantage of it.

I´ve always wanted a bus so after this one popped up my interest is verry triggered.

Going to see it this saturday.

T2ab ´72 welded and painted. Bare bus but everything except front seats, R&R bed and bumpers included.
Pop up roof with new tent also included. Good trans, working brakes and ´´rebuild´´ engine

Wish me luck, a winter project for me and my girlfriend would be nice.

If you guys would like that , i can do that.

In the bus section of this forum? Because it won´t get a turbo. We´re going for reliability, originality and family events with this bus.

95% sure i´ll buy it saturday. My engine buklder is coming along for second opinion.

Wish me luck

Didnt buy it, was not welded properly and poor pre-paint prep work.

We´re looking for another one. No hurry

Bus plan is off the table for a while.... various reasons.

I´m allready thinking of the dragrace season for 2024.

This winter I´ll fabricate a wheeliebar. Thinking of going 1 wheel and triangle setup from frame horns and top-back of rollcage with maybe a shock absorber on top.

Other than that, since I removed my sway bar in the front it needs an allignment on the front and 1 new steering rod that´s worn/slightly bent.

Also want to try the clutch dampner.

I made a 1.0 version but intend to make one like pictured above.

Any toughts on pro/con on 1 wheel wheeliebars?

Please bear with me, I'm new to drag racing bugs & such. Please tell me about this clutch damper you're creating. I can't picture it in my head.

Sorry to hear about the Westy falling through :(

No problem,

It is mounted on the floor between your legs, with a rod that goes from the clutch pedal to the dampner. The dampner had 10 settings for releasing the pressure on the piston.

It has some kind of locking mechanism so when you ´´set´´ it , it activates the use of the piston,

You press the clutch pedal, and when you release it, the piston regulates how fast the clutch engages.

So when you had that 1 action in 1st gear the mechanism bypasses the piston.

If you look on instagram on lowbugget´s page he explaines it better than i can

I think I get it. It uses a hydraulic damper to slow the return of the clutch pedal (the engagement of the clutch) in 1st gear. Brilliant!
