Just got off the phone with Mr. Prentis, he said we would have artwork in the morning. I will post it as soon as possible so everyone can decide if it is what everyone wants.

I'll make a prediction --- you'll be bombarded with folks who want everything except what you are arranging.

Thanks for following through and helping.

I just got a shirt from our local racetrack the other week. 2 colors. Shirt is not the best quality but it was only 10 bucks. Just thought I'd post a pic for some thoughts.

If the pic doesn't work, I listed the link to it as well.

I take it the owner runs sport trucks... he's the only one that got spot color.

I received this note... instead of hiding it --- thought it could be beneficial to this thread
David58bug wrote:I'll make a prediction --- you'll be bombarded with folks who want everything except what you are arranging.
I have stewed over your post for 16 hours. You are wrong for your negative post. Almost 100 people have visited the tee shirt post since your post none of them has had anything to say on your behalf. They are waiting with open minds to see the artwork posted. I think if you can do any better than me you should step up to the plate. I took a day off because I wanted to give something to the forum. Although David asked how much the artwork was costing me to have done so I wouldn't be out of pocket. I told him. I wasn't telling him, because if I told you, David then you would want to pay me. He thanked me for my efforts to get the artwork done which by the way took me 3 hours to find an artist instead of months. So I see that you need to think before you start typing. What you post has given a perceived negative attitude to the forum as a group and I don’t appreciate it and don’t think anyone else does either. I don’t want or need an apology from you. I just want you to know what you did was wrong.
I was made aware that this came accross wrong --- this is not the case.

It was unfair to reply post without the subtext....

HISTORY
"We need a T-shirt" has been posted around mutiple times over many threads... I can count at least 10 times that it was tossed around and then never came together. The hundred posts are because of the complex nature of committee art...

All of this would have been done months back if someone said "TSHIRT ... don't know what it is" and 100 folks benevelantly threw in $20 each and didn't ask for a shipping date and volunteered to coordinate it.

The only thing we can agree on is that XL is the smallest size required

CLARIFICATION
We appreciate the effort being put into this project. The reality is that it's art by committee. Folks have yet to put money down on these shirts. They're all "waiting to see what it looks like." My post was an advance guess that folks no matter what was presented would want soemthhing different instead of just plopping down $20 for a shirt.

This wasn't meant to be negative... just reality. Reading through the history, it's quick to deduct that we don't have a 100% consensus on the color or cars.

VOLUTEERS
Leatherneck has stepped up to push it through... I'm willing to prepare the mechanical or electronic artwork... I'll also coordinate the cash and shipping labels (if nobody else will)

Leather has the soldier fortitude to push this through...

I believe we can get one printed... we have 25-30 tentative agreements on shirts... it's likely this is the biggest number.

This shirt project is a horse that will not die... and hasn't lived yet.

NEXT STEP
We need volunteers and folks to start buying them site unseen and no comment on the color and/or final design.

Who's ready to paypal today... I will ... who's willing to receive the money?

Tim

THANKS again for setting up artwork... it's my sincerest hope that the only discussion after it's public is "where do I send money"

I have no problem plunking some money down, but as you noted, these things have gone bust many times in the past. If that's what it takes, I'll poney up for at least one shirt to get things rolling. If I like what I see I'll be taking as many as 6.

I'll hire the artist... prep the mechanical or electronic art.... coordinate the money... design the shirt.. ship them and field the complaints..

All I need is 30 prepayments without any input....you all would be wearing shirts by christmas... call me a bulldog but I'm not one for excuses, complaints or committees.

Then I'll buy 2 ... one for me and one for the STF owner... We're up to 3 shirts - prepayed... $20 each

Now this is about having a group product... not a sticky about something one of us is doing.

Let's set a deadline.

I sincerely believe Leather and David can run this one home.

I will call you a bulldog and a couple of other things as well but I do not mind prepaying but I do want to know what they look like before they go to print. I started this thing and that is something even I want to see. I would rather wait then jump in there and buy something I would only use for a rag.

Timmy what needs to be discussed is how much they will cost and what happens with the money, I mean the shirts should not cost 20.00 bucks. I will talk to Doc and see what his input is then we can discusse it from there.

So we set a deadline and we have crappy art, we go with it? Don't think so, lets keep gathering info. No since in setting something we are just going to bounce off the wall.

The reason I haven't posted any artwork is because I don't have any to post yet, but when I do I will. This is a group effort everyone should have a part in it one way or the other, even if it is only buying tee-shirts. I am doing my best to get artwork that we as a group will enjoy to wear. I was thinking I could find someone that would do it right then and there while I waited and if I would have went to River Street on Saturday nite we probably would have artwork. Instead I stayed home waiting on the artwork, because I thought we would have it the next day. Sorry for the delay, but in the end it will be worth the wait.

If we get this done by christmas, that means more shirt sales. They will make great gifts 8) That is why I may take 6 of them if I like them. After christmas, I may not need that many. Pressure's on

Thanks for all the effort guys!

Ok just to let everyone know we are still waiting on the artwork. I called Prentis on Friday and gave him Leather's phone number as he had questions on the positioning on the artwork. I didn't know it was going to take this long to get some art. Just wanted to let everyone know that I haven't dropped the ball and that is still rolling.

Thank you David...

Advice... have them do a rough... nothing final.. there will be changes.. we can mock up and do a position draft.

Remember -- line art only..
