Valvetrain Geometry

Wow, I'm an idiot. I was talking about getting a one of those head stands so I could put the head on a bench and take off the springs...when alls I would have to do is put the head on and take off the springs, duh. Ok, so I WILL need an air compressor for this???

You could always stuff some rope down the spark plug hole with the piston locked at tdc.

yep...let me know when you are ready...my 3hp portable that i carry on my workvan is more than enough power...you are welcome to take it for a weekend or week or whatever...i have a smaller one that i use most of the time to run my brad nailer at work....(i havent' forgotten your deflectors and pulley tin either....just haven't had time to muck with the engine yet...<sigh>)

Awesome, thanks Chris, but one of my friends will probably loan me one for awhile. Yeah, I'll need the tins(and also can I have my old dipstick back if it isn't too much trouble?) eventually, but at the rate things are going I won't need it soon because I don't even have my heads...and SEDynoDay is coming up real soon. Maybe I can pull a couple all nighters and get her cranked up.

<G>.....i'm gonna have to draw the line at the dipstick....i think the other ten or so i have will be lonely if that one doesn't hit the shelf too....hehe...let me know if you actually do need the compressor(it hasn't been taken out at a job for two months now, because i use the baby one...it's lighter and i am old and fat....hehe) and let me know if i am taking too long to get th eparts....i dont't want to hold you up....i will try like the dickens to get them off this weekend....
