As I think back to when the problem started, it was after I ran out of Gas. I was on a 3000 mile trip through Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utaha and Oregon. The last day in Eastern Oregon I ran out of gas. Ttht's when I first noticed the miss. I think I'll be dropping the motor and removing the fuel tank.

Miss under Power - Follow up

Post by BlueBus »

 I didn't pull the tank on my bus. As a last resort I tried "Gunk" gas line dryer. I added it for two tank fulls. On the second tank the miss went away. I've been adding it once a week (thats once every 4 tanks) and haven't had a miss yet.

Is this a FI engine, or carb?

My FI bus had VERY similar problems, and it was solved by replacing the poor fitting substitue of an oil cap with a VW one.

Look for any kind of vacuum leak if it is FI.

Good Luck,

David
