the rattle can job you were talking about was done by Eirc aldermin in vagas, I went out and looked at his car, it didn't look bad in pics but in person it was a 20 footer.
I would say either send me a plane ticket or prep the car yourself and let a shop do a inexspensive paint job or if you prep it right and take your time you could do a decent rattle can job . the trick is to take your time and not putting the paint on to heavy.

Not to mention permanent brain damage possibilities *whiff whiiff*Jon wrote:Here is a scary thought. I have heard that in the very earliest days of Automobiles while they were still building stage coaches they used to brush on Hot Laquer.
What that involved was boiling a pot of Laquer paint and brushing it on. the heat would thin it down and level it out. It supposedly gave a very high gloss finish. Mostly done on really expensive Coaches and Hearses.
Please don't anyone try this as you might Die in a firey blaze.

I brush painted primer on my dash that I just did. The pict isn't too detailed here but as you can see it's not really smooth or anything (bodywork isn't totally smoothed out to begin with but you get the idea).

Also brushed paint on my Kubel:

I had a bad camera then. But it kind of leaves a wood grain-like markings behind at places, plus the drips.

It's a modified '49 Ford dash. Just cut and weld, it's all metal! There's a buildup section on the dash in my site (www.runtrod.com) if intersted.
