Where could I find some high horsepower electric engines?

Are you one of those confused people who can't make up their mind?

Oh yeah I almost forgot, it's water cooled. Is that unusual for an electric engine, sounds like it.

Try checking some military/industrial surplus stores. Last time I was at one I saw some huge electric motors.

AC vs. DC, I'm not really sure how you plan on running an AC motor. Since batteries are a DC voltage you would eat up more room and space by installing a voltage converter.

Future is fuel cells. Buses are ideal for 'em. The long tubes for the catalysts would fit perfectly under a T-2. Zero pollution, zero heavy @$$ lead-acid batteries, zero noise, and most importantly like all electric motors, zero torque-curve.

Electric motors are way better than internal combustion. They are like 96% efficient, a VW motor is like 30%. I only hard part is where are you going to get the electricity to power those motors.

Does anyone know how much the hydrogen weighs when you fill it up in a tank that is supposedly suppose to power a car? Just curious.

I dont know much about those larger electric motors..
But what you are talking about for a project.. Just an idea here to play with that will be much cheaper, and may acutually help you plan the "motor building" process...

Goto your local hobby store.. Pickup a Losi XXT model pickup. Get a nice speed control.. One that probably will handle like a 10 cell battery.. Get a feel for a stock motor (Guys at the store will know what you are talking about, cuz I dont remember).. Then.. Step upto a modded motor.. Less turns of wire, in multiple strands, and step up out of the "stock" battery of 6 cells into 7, 8 or 9 cell batteries.. It may seem like an spendy hobby and it is.. Trust me.. It will help out in an extreme manner, to play with stuff on a smaller scale, and then do your planning before you undertake the bigger job..
Just dont get hooked on that hobby.. Its addicting.. Like VWs are.. hehe..
