Mazda Rotary motor into Beetle

Does anybody know what a 1969 beetle with a 12a in it would do 0-60mph in.and does the standard gear box withstand all of the extra horses

A friend of mine has a '69 Bug with a 13B Rotary engine.Beefed and lower geared tranny.
His quarter mile speed is 95 MPH with wheelspin thru 3rd gear.Not sure of 0-60 time.Also due to low gearing he's turning 4000 rpm at 60MPH.

Thanks for that.i guess that means he is running about mid 13sec so the performance must be very impresive.

He took me for a short ride.I had thought I'd ridden in fast cars,but his bug just jumped !Banging shifts,sqealing,tires,blurring telephone poles,WOW.Well you get the picture.Makes me want to get mine on the road..........SOON.
