Clarification: As I said gasoline (not white gas - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_gas) can evaporate over time and it does leave a residue. If it has an oil mix as in 2-stroke fuel the mess can be worse. It has been my experience that no two cars seem to be the same when it comes to carburation and some cars can sit for long periods of time and be just fine while others seem to have troubles sitting even during short periods of time. I have a pair of Dels that one fouls on a regular basis and the other one can sit for long periods of time.
Some carburetors’ used to have foam floats which I am not sure if the manufactures still do this or not; ethanol is going to be hard on them for any length of time. Brass floats have been known to fill over long periods of time also. I don't know for sure but I think gasket materials have improved over time so I wonder if ethanol (I know, you said you don't run it) is going to be hard one them as it is everywhere else; racing fuels are pretty caustic too I think.
Like I said, you should know your machine and how often it sits and if it has any idiosyncrasy or not but I don't think it is wrong to put Stabile in just in case your toy sits longer than expected.
