How much time do you have in polishing up the engine case?

Found their site:
http://www.limflug.de/index.php?page=products&lang=de
German only, didn't see parts available seperately.

Limbach is a german producer of aircraft engines, based on Typ1/Wbx.
They are very close to Type1 Heads. Double ignition is applicable, maybe i wanna use it.

Greets from Germany,

Did those heads require welding between the cylinder bores ?
Kinda looks that way.

Hi and a happy new year !

yes you're right, they are welded.

At the moment I think about using 100mm Deutz cylinders.
I talked to someone who builds oxyboxers all along, an he said, the
103mm bore woud run perfectly in a low compression engine with about
150hp, but for more rpm/compression/hp, smaller bore would be the better way.

So if someone wants to build an high-torque oxyboxer for his Bus an searchs for cylinders/pistons  pm !
And if someone has a set of Deutz cylinders /100mm Pistons  pm !

Why does a 3mm difference in the bore make a big difference ?

At the moment the bore is 103mm, the cylinderwall at the top is 3,5mm. With a 100mm bore i'd have 5mm cylinderwall.
Thats about 40% more thickness. Im not sure what im gonna do  Also depends on if somebody wanna buy my 103's.

Some of the Type 4 guys run 105mm, using the same casting as a 103.

That may be, but they still have a 5mm wall in a Type 4. The bore in the Head of a Type 4 is 115mm.
Mine is 110mm.

What does this guy use for pistons and barrels ?

He uses modified Deutz Zylinders and Porsche pistons.
