Are there any plans to make this into an annual gathering of Type 4s or was it a one off for the 40th anniversary? Might be able to drag a few others over from the UK if it happens again next year :D
Actually, it IS an annual gathering of mainly the dutch and german type 4 clubs.
The location alternates between Holland and Germany, so in 2009 the meeting will be held in Germany. This year was just special because of the 40th anniversary of the type 4.
It would be great to have some UK participants too!
Remember me to have the next meeting (date + location) published soon enough for you guys to make plans in advance for :D

Tnx for the nice comments!

Cheers wally, shall mark it on my calendar and hopefully I'll remember to post the details on the Type 3&4 Club forum in the Uk and see if I can coax some members into a trip.

I'll be there next year with my gold 4 door 412LE sedan. Not much more welding to do before it goes for a respray. Was held up for a year due to the floods. The poor car was under two feet of water....

That is so nice to hear! Every extra car is always very welcomed!

 What country are you from? as floods are not common in most countries.

Tnx,
Walter

I am from the UK. We had very bad floods here last summer. I live between Gloucester and Tewkesbury. The car is in the back garden. We had 3 feet (1 metre!) of water in the house and the same in the garden. There was about 10cm of water in the car. I had just finished welding the floor!! It is all dry now and we finally moved back downstairs last week after all of the repairs to the house.

I was lucky and avoided all the floods but like kps70 many parts of England did suffer from severe flooding and some poor people are still unable to return to their homes due to the damage.

Good to see another UK owner, keep in touch and we could travel over together
