Any clues of how you do the measuring etc.?
Tim,

after the first one, I built a body cart that I bolt the body to. The tabs that I welded on utilize one of the front 2 threaded holes on a heater channel and one of the rear threaded holes. After cutting out a channel, I bolt a new one on the cart and bring the body down onto it.

It works pretty good, in that I don't have to worry about lining up the pan bolts.

Here are some useful measurements, I got from someone on the Samba.

I haven't been able to double check them, since it's been a while since I put my 67 on the cart (still not done) and I forgot the original measurements

As for the door openings, I take measurements at the top and bottom, then diagonally, but, in the end it's all about how the gaps look and how the doors line up flush with the body. You may have to tweek a little here and there :D

does anyojne have pix of the welded braces with turnbuckes?

In my primary garage I dispise clutter... located some VERY old school 6" casters.. any time I'm playing with a shell, I just screw them to a pallet.. when the project is done the pallet goes back.

Cool jig... how did you get it straight enough for measuring etc. (I do have a body jig and don't trust it - yes it's steel).

I formed the piece by hand and if anyone needs one I will gladly fab them up for them. Ill have to come up with pricing, if there is an interest. I am also fabbing early engine compartment shelves. I will post up some pics and if there is any interest come up with pricing..
