Wow great reading here sparked my interest in this and as always there going to be a few questions.
1.Was looking at the http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=308 and about the wastegate flange when I go salvaging hunting will this be on the car I pick for my victim the wastegate that is.
http://www.msdignition.com/tc_19.htm
While I have been wating for my carb I installed a msd 6al and distributor.
And as far as the fuel injection with all these kits are dual carb setups now stupid question does a single carb fuel injection exist or did I not look on there site hard enough?

What is this for the boost retard?Went looking and would need this correct? If you run an MSD with a rev limiter...add 200.

Most all of the turbos you will get from a bone yard will have internal waste gates.Tuaca wrote:Wow great reading here sparked my interest in this and as always there going to be a few questions.

Boost retard is not needed. I use it on my rail, but it is not something that is "must have". As a matter of fact...many guys don't care for it. What it does is it retards your timing X amount of degrees per each pound of boost. You have a knob on your dash...if you want it to retard you timing .05 for every pound of boost, you set it accordingly. You can turn it all the way up to retard your timing 3 degrees for every one pound of boost. In example...lets say you have your timing set to advance to 32 degrees total and you are running 10 ponds of boost maximum. You have your boost retard set to retard 1/2 a degree for every pound of boost, so it would retard your timing to 27 degree at full boost. Please keep in mind that I am just using these numbers as examples...I don't intend you to set your timing up this way.
I have seen single FI setups...but never one for sale. Most of them were built by the owner of the car.

I use a MSD set up and have used the boost retard and did not like it. Now I run a locked distributor and have a cockpit mounted dial to advance or retard my timing. Most of the time I leave it alone. Works great. I have mine set when the knob is in the middle the timing is set to 24 degrees. If I get some bad gas or it is really hot out and I hear ping/knock I can simply turn the dial down a couple of degrees. Works great.
Here is what I use. You dont have to use this. It is just nice to have. You can always add it later.

Yes...and yes.Tuaca wrote:So you would just block off that flange for the wastegate?
So the 200$ figure is for the msd ignition?

Link us to the blow through kit that they sell. Do a search on them here on STF and see what most say about how long it takes...I'll leave my own personal experience out of it.runslikeapenguin wrote:you can get blow through kits, and are they known for taking a long time? because im clsoe enough to go pick it upscott the viking wrote:No...I don't know of carb top for Kardons...and I hope you don't mind waiting three or four months ( sometimes more) for their turbo kit.
