Interesing thread.. Anyone got any info about single separable ITB's around 35-40mm?

I got a set of 01-03 gsxr 600 TB's sitting here on my shelf, they are the style that you can completely seperate all 4 TB's. The butterfly plate is 38mm, and they are little guys, only 3.25" tall. They would be doable but there is one thing I don't like about them, they do not have a idle circuit so syncing them is going to be a PITA (you will have to adjust the idle stop on each TB to sync them), they are nice and cheap though.

Re: seeking info for DIY Intake manifold design for gsxr TB
Bumping up an old post.
I bought these bungs and rail stock from Ross Machine. Super Supaninja has been gracious enough to loan me his RMR injector fitting tool. I am going to weld these bungs into my IDF intakes on the outside and down low to aim as close to the valve as spacing allows.

I am not planning on GSXR ITBs, but the injector positioning work will be relevant for this post so I will update when I have more progress.

will it fit in the car though.....? whats it going in?
great for placement though
i'm quite tempted to got gsxr tbi's and have stubby manifolds (t1) whats the downside of short manifolds? better for TBI's i would have thought?
has no one thought about a base plate that bolts to the head then two tubes coming up from there and bolting to the TBI's via a plate again or silicone turbo pipe?
could even make them out of glass fibre or dare i say it.... carbon fibre...??? making a foam mould, laying it over and then dissolving the foam...? or am i being way too out there lol

I assume that you are talking about lost foam casting aluminum right? This would work but you'd need a furnace, crucible, and sand to go with it. I was working on a pattern to cast GSXR to ? adapters, but I don't know what to adapt them to. I have sand, a crucible, and a furnace BTW.andy198712 wrote:making a foam mould, laying it over and then dissolving the foam...?

I believe he is refering to the process in witch you make parts out of carbon fibre..
Make a foam mould to resemble the inerds of the part and lay carbon fibre ovre it and when it dries, dissolve the foam to leave you with a custom complex shaped part

IT would be so much easier to split ITBs apart and just make adapter plates with dual carb (Weber) style intakes.......

Would you use an adapter to adapt the GSXR TB's to the Weber intakes, or a manifold that adapts the GSXR TB's to the VW cylinder head?

Re: seeking info for DIY Intake manifold design for gsxr TB
I have preciously suggested simply machining the existing cast manifolds for ~50mm butterflies and a cross shaft, or perhaps simple compact ones made from ~1/2" plate that simply bolt on, also Weber/Dell bolt pattern, and drilled to take std trumpets. (could be any size)
I'd personally like to make a maybe 36mm-38mm set that bolt on the head, or just above the injector, and perhaps not straight across, but at an angle, 2 shafts...
Short enough so I can feed it with some mandrel bends and have a large central plenum. (T4 only, would be impractical to do on T1 due to port spacing)
You could probably even use Weber cross shafts and butterflys, which are available.
ITB prices are far beyond ridiculous unless you adapt the motorcycle ones.
Adding an air bypass (single per side MAY work with a small crossover) would be trivial.
OTOH 50mm+ WAY too big for 99% of ACVW apps.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Re: seeking info for DIY Intake manifold design for gsxr TB
Hi guys, I'm jumping in with a set of '98-'99 srad Gsxr750 throttle bodies. I've had them for a while now, but all I did is to split them, and I often find myself just staring at them for long periods of time, contemplating the best approach
)

I also have a couple of IDF flanges that I got from Eugene here on the forums (thanks again!), but I have to machine those in order to use them, and get a couple more done.
I plan on using the orig. gsxr injectors and most of the stuff that came on them, but I have a few questions you guys might know the answer to:
Could I use the FPR that came mounted on the fuel rail? (it seems like the obvious choice as long it doesnt complicate things) Is it vacuum refferenced or why is it connected to the vacuum hoses? Also what is the small black square device that's also connected to the same hose? Is it some kind of MAP sensor?

Hello xellex. I would say you can use the regulator and yes is referenced to manifold pressure (as most of them) so the pressure drop across the injectors is constant. The box is a map sensor.

Re: seeking info for DIY Intake manifold design for gsxr TB
i found an interesting link today.
in rer to injectors on the gixxer TBI's...
http://www.gixxer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=286472
basically states that :
for 06-07 600's
The primary injectors are brown part number EAT255 and they flow 225cc at 43.5 psi. The secondary injectors are grey part number EAT256 and they flow 460cc at 43.5 psi.
now i know nothing about injectors but what is 225cc good for? guessing thats per min?
this all comes from me joining the GSXR TBI club!
scored some K6 600 TBI's off ebay for £35 posted. came with TPS, both fuel rails but only lower injectors, oh and the MAP which i wont need but hey ho!

That's cc per minute flow rate, I believe they use 100% duty cycle to come up with that number. I ran just fine on 185cc injectors with my 2L, so those will be plenty for your lil motor.
