Nice, but why the waste-gate on one pipe only? Must cause some unwanted shock wave or unequal backpressure per cylinder or something you'd think?

Hi Metzger!

I think the question is why only one side of the twinscroll?
i.e. only two of the four primaries?

Good point though. Would it not be wrong to have connection between the two sides of a twinscroll?
Would it not kind of counteract the entire idea of the design with separate primaries?

Hi Metzger!

Now I am awake and looked at your absolutely first picture. There I see it.
It is connected in Y section from each final secondary pipe before entering the turbo.
Makes 100% sense to me now.¨
I will do the same on my twin scroll. Thanks for sharing.

Did you see my Burns collector for this same applicatin?

Yes, thanks! Like Frallan says, if its connected in the Y-section of both tubes like you siad above, its perfect (with my little understanding of these things)!

It is lovely put together too. Is that a true Twin Scroll turbo? If so, what type?
I've only seen TS on subaru's and in the suby world, there are no aftermarket TS turbos made if I understood correctly. Some company's do plan for bigger than stock STi TS turbo's for ages, but nothing really is on the market AFAIK. Garret is said to have some BB ones in the pipeline too...

It is a true twinscroll. KKK-K27 dont have the numbers in my head.
It has the smallest exhausthousing nr12 i belive that had built in wastegate. It`s remooved now as you may understand. A friend of mine
had a exact same on his volvo and made 430 bwhp with bigger injectors and a better exhaust. Fairly good spoolup too. Got this verry cheap so il try it 8)

Sorry, no hijacking or rather just a little bit but I had to show my version of build.
No idea of which size on turbo but it supports up to 450 hp. It is a TO4 mixed with TO3 but not the normal hybrids.

Thanks to your thread I know now how to get the wastegate done. No need of thinking anymore.

Nice 4-1 piece Frallan!

Metzger, do you plan to visit a rolling road dyno after the turbo upgrade?

(visited your site again and I like those pictures. Tnx!)

Ok, i'm a total newbie to the turbo stuff. But i'm trying to learn my best because i want to put one on mine.

What does the term "twin scroll" mean? And is this good or bad?
Sorry, did'nt mean to change the topic of the tread!

Wally- I am going up on the turboside and down on injectorsize, my very
good friend Mirre is going to do his magic with the laptop. A intercooler is also in the plan. If it turns out that it works to my liking when the boost is turned up i will go to the dyno ofcourse.
Frallan- I have made up my mind about automatic transmision. Next year it will be time for that. The only question i have is (Since it is a streetcar, it must be streetable. Is that a word?
I fell over a siezed porsche 3,0 turbomotor for a verry low sum of money.
Have been a dream for menny years to build a motor like Russ Fellows.

And finaly. Will put on a good muffler. It was defenitly to loud last year. My neigburs did not like my car at all

Metzger,

I hope you have seen this thread. http://www.shoptalkforums.com/viewtopic ... highlight=

It answers almost 99% of all I know on this kind of rebuild.
I have recent contact with another guy from Austria or Australia that has exact same idesa and he plans to visit Sweden in the summer.

I will connect the two of you. Russ Fellows concept is far the best version to copy.

Will enjoy helping the both of you.
