Has anyone seen one of the $495 cranks yet?
So they are the same cranks EMW is selling... Hmmm.Type 4 Unleashed wrote:Piledriver wrote:It's going to be hard to beat the price of the lower link.

It's all AA's chinese stuff, except for the pistons.
They are the only one making a Type lV crank besides SCAT.
Getbackontrack wrote:I have started to look a little around for a crank and cylinder kit for my engine.. Have found this (see links) What is your opinion on this crank and cylinderkit. Is there a better alternative (Piston wise) and what about the crank? If anybody have some links to "dealers" who sell parts for large type 4 engines I would be gladIm going to turn this bastard to 8000 rpm, and think I need lighter forged pistons than those listed (dont actually know the weight) (I know I cant use the rods for the cam im using)

Getbackontrack--- to turn 8K on a big motor, you will need to spend very serious coin on huge heads/light valve train.
Plan on a major transmission upgrade too.
Yes that's the ones I'm talking about. (I guess Jakob already knows about them thenGriebel wrote:Reg. rods...I think that Claus, aka M_Flow, knows more about the FAT "Cunningham-style" rods !! Check his comment on page 2 in this thread....
Getbackontrack wrote:So, does that mean its either a chinese crank or a scat? What about the DPR cranks?
Cunningham rods is what I will be using along with a web 277 cam.
Thanks for your replies.

No, it means if you Want a NON-Welded Stroker, the chinese, SCAT Moldex or Afling are the choice's, if you want a Welded Stroker, then DPR, Demellos, EMW or better known in Europe as Eurorace are the choice's.So, does that meen its either a chinese crank or a scat? What about the DPR cranks?
Why limit your self with the WEB cam, a Pauter cam would be a much better choice, here are a few Pauter grinds:Cunningham rods is what I will be using along with a web 277 cam.
