2.1 wbx crank in a CT(type1) case, any how to's?

Post by fastoldvw »

I Have a 2.1 crank, and a CT 1600 vanagon engine, and i want to mix the 2 together.
The CT is basically a type1 case, but it is aluminium, and has the screw-on oilfilter and type4 hyd.lifters of the WBX..
I know that the Germans have been running WBX cranks for many years in their type1 engines, just because it is a good quality piece of steel at a low price.
But i have not seen anyone explain the case modifications on the internet yet..
So.. if anyone can link me to a site, or explain to me what needs to be done to he case, i would be very thankful..

One more thing to consider...
CT/CZ engine cases are actually magnesium...

Good luck
