bursch exhaust flipped flanges

Post by btectonic »

Howdy all,

Has anyone tried rewelding the flanges on a 914 Bursch? Looks like it *might* run a bit low to the ground...

Anyone running Jake's extractor he designed for his Camper Special/T2 motors?

I'm guessing the Thunderbird adds little power benefits. Does it reduce the running temp a bit? Nasty welds, man, I thought I was a bad weldor.. :?

THe main issue on the Bursch is that on stock cooling, you need to extend the HX pipes about an inch so it clears the fan housing.

It doesn't really hang much lower than a Tbird, and is MUCH better made.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
