Search for "Frallan".
His avatar (and a full size photo in a thread somehwere, perhaps he has a website?) shows a blue bug with pancake cooling intact, and full bodywork..
It looks good, and likely works great knowing Frallan, but is also doesn't look very stock from the outside.
A Cali conversion (Nextgen here) works well on a not wild/huge engine, and can be done on the cheap.
You exchange work for $$$ vs a DTM or ready-made Cali conversion setup.
...Really just the fiberglass end bits and alt stand + crank pulley,
Jake Rabys DTM stand & pulley take care of 90% of the job.
(The stand may need modded, as no 2 Cali setups are alike)
I keep threatening to start popping glass Cali "tins" out and selling them cheap... Someone should, the "tins" are very simple parts, and suited to a very simple mold.
There are also other setups like the horizontal fan arrangements, either L.A.R.D. (LAPerformance) or something like the Corvair fanned setups I and others have hacked up. (Mine's now "done" and needs a spare engine)

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

SIMPLE! on THAT motor, a CJ or CU closed breather model, it looks like they took a piece of 1.5inch U-bend tubing, drilleded a hole for the breather pipe to fit through, then strapped everything down to the middle case bolt with a T1 alt strap.MRRAGPICKER wrote:I'd like to see more pictures of how they go about mounting the alternator.
Look closely, no dizzy......
