Seabee turbo buggy build

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

Just another shot in front of the new home.

I have new race prep CV's and new 28mm torsions . I checked the Axle angles and it holds at 25* max. It was 22* with the old trans. Dan from Dans performance parts said it should get 28* Max. I set the bars about 21* it has about 30% drop. Well as of now. With a full tank and me in it, it will drop a little. The whole issue of the bars was I would bottom out on some transitions from hills to flat in the dunes the most. If I added a second person it was much worse. The next step will be testing in the dunes next weekend. If it is still not helping with the larger bar. 1mm larger only. I had 27mm before. I will send my shocks back to fox and have the valving changed. I hope I don't cause and negative issues like loose the super nice ride on the street and mild offroad.

Hay! We are doing well. Super happy with new home (new to me) Great neighborhood. We are the town that the 8 men broke out of jail. I am sure you seen that in the news. Wishing there were more offroaders here. The vw's as coming out of the woodworks here. I guess due to gas cost. I hope I can get out for a test drive this weekend. Monday. Do you still have the Baja?

I put the new 70$ empi race prep 930's and the 28mm torsion bars. Thank you Kendel. First shot at new bars and they are Exactly where I wanted and level side to side. Another note they have some give but hold firm under take off. No cv noise at the 25* point. set at 23* for setting unloaded. Very happy with set up. I just hope it clears the Bed in the toy hauler. I picked up a new welder and now I am welding on some cool offroad mirrors.

It looks nice. I'm sure it will ride just fine. Where did you end up relocating to?

I look at the NM Gazetter you are in the worst place in NM for off roading. If your going US highway 10 to Ca bring the buggy by on the return trip and we will go off roading.
