SCORE!

Just got some Type II into Bug Stub axles for $65...

Now i'm just in need of the drive axles, bowden tube bracket, clutch lever, and a 10* mounting kit (possibly some CV boots too)....

002 should be hidden under the smurf's butt by next trip...

So, you guys can start figuring out who gets to tell me how much my car kicks ass first...

DTMRacing will say... "damn, a Bus Trans and that bitchin rack... can't we trade cars?"

CWriz will say... "My wife should be at your place by 830...."

SpunPuppy will say... "it would look better with a black widow painted on it...."

You have drive axels..........just come get 'em!! With type 1 cv's even. Coula saved you $65 to buy another couple cases of water for moochers...........

With that 002, don't you have to run 930 CVs?

I thought that the Type1 CVs are too weak???

..pay no attention to CWrisley, Jeff... He means well... but... well, inbreeding obviously has some negative effects...

It was an old-school trick (read cost effective "band-aid") to use the Type II (Bus) CV on the trans, and still use the Type I CV's on the Trailing arm side. That way, you were saved the cost of the Bus to Bug Stub axles, and Bus CV's.. Thats what Chris was talking about....

I'll be running Type II CV's on both ends.... not as strong as 930's for sure... but with stock lenght arms and 50hp on tap... Type II's will be fine...

"hooptie camper" is still on my truck...

I've got some small projects to take care of on it, and i'm REALLY hoping to head back out to Ocotillo in early December anyway... so, why unload it just to load it again 3 weeks later...

...i've been terrorizing Hwy 67 in a Mustang. WAY more fun to commute in than the F350...

But fear not Chris... There will be a pile of Sh!t with a LANCE sticker and rattle can paint back in your front yard before you know it.

Its looking to be a GO for the weekend of December 12th Chris... You gunna make it???

Depends on what shift I land on. Im kinda hopin to get B-Shift, that would make desert trips a lot easier to schedule. I like how my life is slowly starting to revolve around what makes desert trips easier

I ordered the 10 degree trans mount from Mckenzies today, and hopefully i'll have it by next week... I have everything ready for the 002 trans to go in... and with EVERYTHING under the shift tunnel this time! TOO COOL!
I also scored two of these and a nice fresh air pump from a friend at work... I think I should have the "Slowest Car with a Parker Pumper" award locked down for a while

makes sense though... if i'm in everyones dust, these should make life much nicer...
there is no intercom in the helmets yet... but i'm looking for a deal on some used ones... the cost for new system would get my Ecotec running.... so....

Lets get this straight FRIEND.... the only time you "lost" me in the was is when you broke, and I kept going... and .... correct me if i'm wrong, but I was IN FRONT of you when that happened!?!?

..I'll let you have your 5 min of fame for now with your 1915... but come next season you'll be chasing the water-cooled 2.2 liter twin cam, aluminum block/head, computer controlled fuel injected motor....

I'm actually really curious to see how much of a difference this 002 box will make with the 1600 next time we get to drag race down the wash... WILL be fun...

PROGRESS!!!

So today, a starter mated to an 002 Box fired my motor..... sweet.
The 10* mount was kinda a pain in the Wrisley to get right... but, i'm glad I used it. I'm picking up some torsion bars from my sponsor (SKIDMARK RACING) on Saturday, and i'm hoping to have the car ready for a trip around the block before I go to bed Saturday night.

I'll take pics of the mounted trans once all the T2 CVs and axles are mounted up... but really, its kinda "lackluster." Black 002... black mounts.... seen it before......

BUT!

I also finished this dash up. (finished until I get my Garmin 540c for the passanger side.... Its Not perfect. Actually, I could show you flaw after flaw.... But its my first one... the next one will be better....

but from the driver seat, it looks pretty damn cool, and i'm pretty damn happy.
