For October we have a grizzly of a guy been racing and off-roading for quite sometime and always seems to lend a hand or opinion (even if not asked
Here is a little of who and what he has done. Trust me I had to go places I did not want to to collect some of these pics, but he is worth it.
Well he started with this

Oh snap, nice but wrong pic
Here we go, as it looked rolling into the garage for the first time.

Now that I think about it Skidmark had a lot of first (that I saw) getting away from the old school fabrication.

Pretty nifty bump stops

One of the first to try out the biodegradable body parts

And quick adjust limit straps

Showing off his "Pain in the butt" wheel

Never did get jowlz motivated enough, thats right I blame you!

If you don't like your ride height,

Use jack stands

Starting to take shape

But he has had to get over a few critiques
After much controversy he was finally convinced to use a metal for his firewall.bajaherbie wrote:Skidmark wrote:I trailered the car to my work today and cut out most of the firewall panels. In order to clear the shocks, limit straps, roll cage tubes, etc. I am ending up with 8 spearate panels to seal up the back of the car. I think I will add a ninth by welding in a panel from the rear torsion housing to the pan as well. I decided to go with 18 ga. paintlok (a pre-primered sheet steel). Instead of riveting or using Dzus fasteners, I am going to weld all the firewall panels in. Plans are to stitch weld and use seam sealer inside and out. I will cover the inside with something like dynamat or other insulating material, and under coat the bottom. Interior will be carpeted over. As soon as I finish trimming and get some welding done I will post some more pictures of the progress.
I also found out something new - I hate sheet metal work! It doesn't seem to matter how well the templates fit, once you transfer them to steel you have to go through all the grinding and refitting anyway. Very time consuming....
trailer queen...
just kidding, of course...

In the middle of the build already switching out parts, new beam and setting up the SACO unit.

Before even getting the T-1 engine in off we go to the dark side.

On to the front, Skid has alot of time racked up in this project and at the time had a whole lot of hecklers helping out.

Front end on still trimming

Time to set up the dash.

Here is the man himself.

The aluminum box he made for the fuel cell, yea I hate guys like him

Is this guy multi talented or what?

After a test ride, almost done (are they ever finished?)

And yes the finished dash, SWEEEEETT!

Some guys have everything

One thing really cool about Skidmark, when he is off-roading he is always sporting the STF flag. Thanks for representing Skid!

Here is one, ok maybe not but still a good one.

OK this is it, new I would find one.

My pleasure to see Skidmark as Octobers Off-Roader of the month.
