Hi there, I'm currently the owner of a very sick CU 2.0L engine, I understand that this engine was designed for the wedgie (Vanagon?)but it seems to be classified as a T4.Its in my type 2 but the tin ware has gaps in it around the alternater area where the tin overlaps is this because its in the wrong vehicle?
Firstly is it possible to get tin ware for this engine to fit a type 2?
Secondly I'm getting no compression on cylinder 4, plug was oily but lifters seem to be moving, by the way guess who's the dopy git who sheered off the sump plate bolt, I think this might have something to do with it. Whats the best way to go? I'm resigned to having the engine out but could a crank case distortion from an overtightening of the sump plate bolt lead to No.4 failing? what sort of damage could I expect to find inside? Your help would be appreciated.
Cheers, Bob. U.K.
