Trey's 60 baja build thread

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

I'll post some side shots when I get back. The arms were fun to make but frustrating in how delicate a degree can be. I was probably too picky in wanting no positive camber at ride height but happy with the results.

somewhat of an update. rear arms are welded up. still need plate welded in. shocks are in and welded up. its looking good. the camber isnt bad, just the way things are right now. bearings arent in all the way.

stops? haha. is it that much ground clearance? 17 inches from the floor pan to the ground. I have to test the arms before i offer them up. if i sold some, they would be cheap. between materials, time, they arent that expensive.

the drum is the hood for the forge its sitting on. its almost winter time, so it will be getting some use soon!

my build will be moving on! after a little over a year, I'm getting the title for my car. Talk about a headache! I forced myself to lose interest in this, because of the title. but thats all cleared up now. Time to order some front shocks!

Ive decided to make a move here. Funding is killing me so far, so I am going to be selling my 55 Chevy. This will give me enough money to finish this thing, and then some. So, look for progress soon. Chris, I'll be ordering front shocks from you soon.

If you guys know of anyone in the market for a 55 chevy wagon, point em my way!
