Old Miller AC/DC TIG any good?

Got myself a nice deal on a OLD Miller TIG welder.
320ABSP
A monster of a machine weighs like 370kg.

Anyone who is familiar with this machine?
thinking about reliability of such an old machine.
Think it is from the early 80's.
Hopefullt it will do the job for welding alu and stainless on my VW's

how about getting spareparts for such and old machine?.

Nice score,we used those and miller goldstars forever at work.

Those things never seemed to go down at all,only thing that would happen would be something with a footpedal now and then.

You should have good luck with it if it is in decent shape.

those are tuff welders unlike the new ones just keep it clean and keep the points adjusted and will last many more years .

Well i finally got it hooked up. but boy this one needs a lot of amps.

and was surprised on how good it actually works.
The footpedal control was much more accurate than i hoped for.

When u eay spark's. do u mean the sparkgaps for the HF start??

PS do u have experience with choosing the ballast resistor option (halfwave/fullwave option) on alu welding.
There are som jumpers to alter to get this function.
