Antenna woes.

Post by Mikerock »

So i have an antenna and its broken. the seal between the body and the antenna is broken, water leaks into the car and is hitting the fuse box...

my question is, did my car even come with an antenna. 72 411 and if so where can i get one?

Can i swap one frome a bug or bus, something a little more popular and easier to find?

Bughaus has one listed- I'm not sure if it is some universal aftermarket piece or not, but the picture looks close.

Also, teh type 3 antenna fits pretty well. What is causing the leak is not the antenna. Its the missing body seal down under the fender well. That is a type 3 part #. Be sre that when you install the antenna...there is excess wire left to leave a loop that dips down below the seal in the fender well...or the water runs straight down the wire. Ray
