Its not quite that the variant got stiffer springs. It did...and didn't. It took me a LONG time to figure this out and I had to ask some astute spring makers what the difference was in the Variant yellow coils and the yellow or blue coils from sedan. The real deal is that the load coails at the bottom of the variant are stiffer and closer packed and bigger in cross section...Bur actually in teh sedan blue coails the actual mid stroke rate is tighter. If you lower by cutting....use the variant. If yo lower by using new shocks and restrict the stroke...use the sedan blues. Ray

before anyone gets further ideas: Its not mounted and the original holes do not match. Its just hung on the bumper, wedged onder the front tow hook..
