ok, for those of you that havnt been following along, i broke the center section out of my torsion housing... i believe the beast was too much weight for it.. (2400 lbs to be exact). so i decided to go coilover, since i was going coilover, i figured i might as well just go with 3x3s as well. went with the cheapo arms, stuck with my type4 cvs, Sway-a-way axles, and 14" travel 2.5 inch sway away race runner coilovers. initial impression, = WOW! the test driving was only around my house, but i hit the biggest bumps i could find, as hard as i could, and it soaked them up like nothing. now the pictures..

nice job man. any pics from the inside yet?
i know this is calling the kettle black because i didnt do it. but then again you have 1,200lbs on me
. i would have put a steel plate under the lower shock mounts. i have heard (never seen) baja's that will crack the arms or dent where the shock mounts. just my .02
welcome to the world of high performance coilover susension!
wait till you take it off road you will just about die in amazement on how you went with out them before.

i was going to plate the top of the arm, just to be safe, but then found out that my mounts have to be in further than yours. i am using the existing plate on the arm that bolts to the spring plate as one side of my shock mount, it would have been pretty hard to plate under that. but, that is one of the things that will really be keeping an eye on while i beat on it the first few trips. thats why i left everything unpainted, so i can make corrections if i need to. heres the inside

tuff, i know thats what you were saying.. maybe i didnt explain myself clear enough..
scott(viking), thats pretty cool, who's is it? any pictures of it finished? my hole is WAY too big, due to the hole from the old shocks, and just cutting it big so they fit. im gonna gorilla tape it for the first few weekends till i can clean it up some more...

soooo... hit the dirt this weekend, the car felt great. the real small washboard stuff, and sharp ruts were kinda harsh, i need to mess with the preload some more. i hit whoops, and some smaller jumps pretty hard, and havnt used up a whole lot of the shock range, yet.. i plan on going to the dunes next weekend and maybe jumping a little
