here is my '65 baja that i have owned for several years, it is a work in progress, meaning i'm always working on it. i try to update it and make it an overall better baja. for years i ran stock suspension with the really great empi coil overs and a 40 hp engine. man, i thought i was cookin' too. then i bought a mig welder and the rest is history. first install a warrior beam and some bus shocks on the front. i then made a new front bumper and tied the cage together from front to back. about a year ago i started the coil over conversion for the rear end, while i had it all apart i also installed a used 1600 dp that i bought cheap. here a a couple of shots from little sahara, okla. i made two trips there this year and i know i'll be back lots more.

Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt.
here is a shot of my fiberglass bumpstops that i cracked while at little sahara. high mount fenders are in my future for sure...
next is my new (almost) 1915 engine that i bought this month, it also came with a single 44 idf carb and manifold. the seller swears that a little old lady owned it and that she only drove it at the dunes on sundays after church. i just ordered up a big box of parts for it to complete the install. i'm going to use the cooling tin, alternator and engine oil out of my old 1600 dp engine.

ok,ok i am sorry i asked about the lights . Caddy huh! about the only good thing that comes from Caddy has the words, 32 valve northstar written on it, and of course the CTS V will pass with a push as well .

I never was all that big on disposable motors.
I figured I should add to that statement....I do like the northstar...good engine good power...but...being unable to bore an engine...buy oversized crank bearings or even valve guides...makes it a throw away engine when it wears out...seems like a shame. Anything that goes wrong with the northstar is just replaced...like, valve guides are shot...whole new head. Cylinder got scuffed...new block...you can't even re-sleeve.
Well...there is more than one "shortstar" I am not up to speed on all the new goodies just yet...So I am kind of talking out of school here...If memory serves...there is a 3.5 liter "shortstar that came in Oldsmobile's...and it was like a Northstar with a couple cylinders lopped off and was a 90 degree engine. They have a new(er) one out that is a 3.6 DOHC V6 and it is a 60 degree...I have heard that they are a totally different engine...so...are probably rebuildable. I know that the power output is pretty good too.
