I do have some updates , things kinda slowed down for a few months due to me getting married and the guy with the buggy shop bought a new shop...so he had to move all the cars out and relocate to a bigger and better location. but things are still going on every day. all sorts of new work done to the motor..picked up a pair of FAT manifolds, and a new 40 IDF (i know its small but it was brand new and a smokin deal, same with the manifolds)..i have some KILLER 6X4 4130 Cro mo A Arms now, sorry for the shitty pics..im not much of a camera man.
the new arms hook up to stock IRS inner pivots. have bolt/weld on double shear heim mounts for the end of the torsion housing, they were custom built to have zero camber at 6" suspension lift (from stub to center of torsion tube)..they have a custom 4130 billet bearing housing that uses 930 type 2 stubs (short ones) runs a stock roller outer bearing, but uses a double ball bearing for an inner, like a FWD car would have.

the front end was redone thanks to the comments, i now have a double shear front shock mount system, i think it should get the job done..

as soon as the car gets back into the shop i can get the rear part of the cage done and the 2.5 Air shocks hooked up to the A arms, pop the motor back in...set the angel of the tranny mounts, and build the rear bumper cage...

its getting closer. i should have more recent pics very soon, i just got back from Hawaii so im a little behind on the baja stuff.

the pics dont do any justice for these arms, they are huge..i fell in love at first sight with these babys. they were a smokin deal also, $435 bucks custom built..if anyone has interest i will send ya the shops number..its one guy that builds the arms, and one guy makes the bearing housing..perfect workmanship, even better value...and built to suit..he does all sorts of arms, not just these..

well, thats all i have at the moment..but new stuff will be online soon.

Yep Tweeds 4X1 3/4" arms and 3" lifted combos with the king kong pins.

Dave Brown made the arms, he also made the set that ya see on the rear of the car in the pics, those are drop in 2 1/2 X 2 1/2 bus stub 4130 arms.

and now that i dug out the invoice.. i was wrong on the price.. the arms were a whoppin 400 USD, not 435. and with the dollar these days CDN and US is so close it dont make much differance..but the price is in US dollars.

Sorry but i already sold the arms and my old front end to a friend of mine.
he is putting them on his OG Manx buggy.

i paid around the same price for those arms as the new ones i just got.
i know you can still get them new.but thats about all i can do for ya, sorry.

i will have 2 dig up a stock arm, but you gotta compare them to a stock arm and a spring plate..as they act as both...and i bet ya they weight less than stock..they are not that heavy...i will toss one on the scale and let ya know.

I finally got one of the new a arms installed on the car last night..
as usual..it was a little more work than expected..i thought i had the spring plates totaly un preloaded (torched off the stops) turns out they still had a lot of tension in them..no jack..no chain..tried a forlift..ended up using a hammer..

i had to cut my torsion housing down also..i cut the section off that would support the upper shock mount..and the body mount..i cut it off right along the line of the end cap. sawzalls come in handy at times...so lots of room for the arm to swing now....

im going back now to install the right arm..and take some pics...
its F!#$@!%G Huge!
