Can anyone out there help me out. I am looking to change the headlights in my car and I am looking for some information about the "doughnut" headlights, at least I think that is the name for them. They are like the ones that you see on newer BMW cars now. They have the light ring around the outside edge.
Anyways, does anyone know if and where I can get a set that would work in a standard dune buggy headlight bucket?
Thanks a bunch,
Bugjamin

The halo lights, as they are called, generally are linked with the HID setups in the newer BMWs and Benz's. The HID assembly is far too long to fit in a standard VW bucket, and the assemblies themselves are not weatherproof - you would need to keep the entire headlight assembly intact or scratch build an enclosure. I retrofitted those assemblies from a 3-series into my Sterling, and they were still a little large. Lots of work, and even more to get them to aim properly. Do a search on Ebay for halo or 'angel eyes' light rings. You might be able to find a set large enough to place in front of or around a smaller standard headlight bulb, if the halo is all you're looking for.

Not all "Angels" are created equally..... I saw on a BMW site where a guy took a clear plastic rod and cut equal spaced slices into the rod and then bent the rod around a round object. Then he glued the rod to inside of his lights. It gave the same effect. I have not seen Angel eyes in 7" sizes but if you want smaller AE headlights they are everywhere.
