wipers for rail buggies, where and what to get?
to make it legal eagle, must have wippers, or so I hear, May be a good thing if I get caught in a rain storm as well.
the stock deal looks real bulky, is their an aftermaket unit to keep an eye out for? and who sells it?

Dealing with the same thing in Florida. In FL you do not need a power wiper to be legal. This will do:

do they have to work?
Check the law carefully. In more than one state that I know of, the requirement is for a (or a pair of) windshield wiper. Nowhere does it says it has to be a powered wiper, or that it has to be a working wiper.
Any wiper arm stuck through the windshield will work. My b-i-l has his "parked" at the top of his windshield. It meets the letter of the law.

I was thinking of using one the actually works just in case of a rain shower, it rains here every day in florida, for a few hour unexpected, etc.
definatly a single wiper design. but I will be using Lexan.
my a-hole boss at Home Depot gave me a write up because I didn't bring in the whitewood, and it rained yesterday for 30 minutes, all-well, guess I'd better check to see what's outside next time.
(nice communication, just give them a write up without warning)

This is not a street legal windshield --- I can't figure out why it's OK for helmets but not windshields.... just a note
Write up
WHat the heck is a "white wood" I"ve been in forrests accross the globe and never seen a white wood tree
My sympathy --- HD bites... I abandoned them and went back to specialty yards - took all our victorian restoration orders with us... and roofing... and decking... and flooring... and studding... and plumbing... and electrical... and so on.... they dont' even have hotties at the checkout counter.
Manual Wiper
Has anyone been stopped by a cop with this contraption.. I can't imagine Maddam12 undestanding that not everything needs a button and motor.

In Texas the law states that a winshield must have a wiper. My inspection and registration are on a little 5" x 6" piece of lexan mounted on top of my lexan windshield in the bottom left corner. This way it can be mounted to the frame with no windshield in place. When getting it inspected I just hand them the 5" x 6" piece and they put on my sticker.
Here's the trick. Twice, I had to remove the windshield for it to pass. I can do this right in front of them and put it back on as soon as it passes. This is the reason for the seperate piece for the stickers.
