it's only a street turbo project, based on used renault turbo parts.
It will be a 1776 with 7.5:1 compression, engle 110 cam, G03 heads with 39x35.5 valves, cb performance intake manifold, centermounted Solex 32 DIS carb, electric fuel pump and gasoline pressure regulator, Garret T2 with a 10 psi cup.

Now I am rebuilding the carb. I have seen that there is a 25mm venturi, should I bore out a little? I have seen that 27mm will work. There will be more power? Peppe

I don't expect too much, because I don't want to install an intercooler.
My car will run with LPG that is dangerous for an intercoler setup. Lpg sometimes causes flame return, not too healty for an aluminium/plastic intercooler.
I will shot some photoes.
The difficult will be to let the heat exchangers work. Probably I will keep only one (starter side) with a T near transaxle. So I will give clearance for the turbo near the clutch cable. The LPG will use an electronic valve and a Lambda to mantain the correct air/fuel ratio under load. Peppe

What Renault are you using for parts? I'm currently building a 1776 out of Junk and need to know as many cars I can pirate for parts as possible! Would lov to see any photos, Good LucK!

Do yourself a favor and build your own heater boxes. The stock units are WAY to restrictive for performance use. Use some "J" tubes and build a housing around them, or cut the housing off the old boxes and reuse it (I've heard this can be done but have never tried). If you build your own housings, some 16 or 18 gauge, 3 inch pipe (think: large exhaust pipe) should work great. If you have the skill/confidence to build a turbo motor, this will be a walk in the park. Good luck and do post some pics.

I already have the larger jtubes. I built myself installing a bigger jtube inside a stock heat exchanger. PEPPE

to kaferboy:
I'm using solex 32 DIS carb from renault 5, but it is the same on renault 5, 9, 11,18, fuego. Maybe some different jetting, but the motor is almost the same.
I'm using also electric fuel pump and matching regulator (raises gasoline pressure under boost.
The good of this carb is that has a separate enrichening circuit boost sensitive. This gives a good gas mileage, I'm thinking of installing dual solexes on kadron manifold. I think that will be better. I will try before to fit thecarb as single, then i will double up. I have to build a return line for the regulator. Peppe

Hey this sounds like what I wanted to do. Where can I get a carb? Did the carb only come on the euro cars? This sound like a pretty cool set-up. I'm workin' on a turbo type I in a 912. Good luck-keep us informed.

Hey hey wait a minute! If I understand you Peppe, you are talking about using sgl 40 mm. Solex carbs in a blowthrough setup on a 1776 T1
A friend of mine and me tried that with no luck. The thing ran, yes, but no matter what we did the carbs were´nt that keen on giving the amount of fuel that we wanted at the right time. They basicly ran either really rich or really lean. so in the end we modified a set of 36 mm. DellOrto´s for turbo. And what a difference that gave. driveability went through the roof in comparison fuel economy went up by some 30% and max. power/torque increased by about 20%

So from my point of wiev that is not a solution worth betting on.

It's not a solex 40 (kadron?) it's a solex 32 DIS, from the renault 5 stock.
It's a turbo carb with an automatic enrichening system under boost.
There is a main circuit with a 120 jet and a boost jet of 100, that proportionally open under boost.
The boost jet operation can be changed with the tension of the spring that operate with the diaphragm.
The air from turbo pressurizes also the acceleration jet.

There is place to play, by the way.
My car will go on LPG, and the gasoline operation of the engine it's not too much important for me.
