Hey Matt

Just wondering if you've got the contact details of the bloke you bought your boost retard system off. Did the kit come with a pressure switch??

Also, now I've solved my fuel pressure probs (see other post), I've set it at 2psi at idle. I think I'm either getting fuel starvation or a bitch of a flat spot. How did you know you needed those needle valves cross drilled, what engine characterisitcs drew you to this conclusion or was it just that you saw the A/F guage go lean at top revs?

I have my doubts that it's fuel starvation though, what's ahppening is:

I accelerate nicely in 1st and 2nd, change up into 3rd then it goes sluggish till 4500rpm when it starts picking up again, the same happens in 4th. What causes flat spots anyway, is it lack of advance curve?

Power service international ltd: 020 8561 5600 for Jacobs electronics products. The guy is really helpful and always up for a bit of a deal. I've been thinking about your problems and really need to talk to you as we could spend ages back and forth with messages. Give me a call and we'll sort her out! Are your 48 Dell's tri-jets? What size is the needle valve?

If it is a soggy kind of flat spot it is probably too rich. If it just falls FLAT on its face then you can back out slightly and back in and perform well that is a lean condition. When you stab into the gas quick you essentially equalize the manifold pressure with atomospheric, thereby forcing an instant lean condition. Accelerator pumps are the bandaid for this age long carb problem.
