valve, compression

Two unrelated questions:

1. are the exhaust valves on the 1700 and the 2000 heads interchangeable ??

2. what scenarion would give compression reading of 0 or close to 0 on a 2L. I have tried 3 different heads. (I am assuming that all three cant be equally bad)

Are you sure the compression gage is good?

yeah, the guage is good. I figured out it was the hydraulic lifters pumping up and keeping the valve open
