Post by Baja turbo »

hello
I wonder if anyone here know the size in cc of the consupsion chamber
on a wbx head to a dj 2.1l engine?
Im building a turbo engine so i have to lower the C/R.
my engine is a oxyboxer with water heads.
this is a great forum, i have to say :)

Hello,

I have exactly the same idea to built my engine... May I ask you a question
? Which type of cylinders do you use ? Which kind of pistons ? Whick kind
of configuration did you use to prepare the turbo (whick kind of turbo).
I know it looks lile a lot of questions, but thanks for the answer.
Best regards

Some info from Gowesty:
Cylinder head combustion chamber volume: 15cc
Original German 94mm piston dish: 47cc
Piston/cylinder head clearance volume, per mm: 6.9cc to 7.3cc depending on bore
This must be the "low" comp version i think from an MV engine

I'm using a stock MV engine with 9.0:1 i CR with TB03 Turbo,Water to AIr intercooler and EFI.
This engine is now getting a small service so i have put in a 1,9 DG engine with 8,6:1 in CR Works great too!!
Both works great and i have had Boost pressure up to 15PSI so far without ping/knock (30 degres ignition@3000 rpm and 98 octane )

VAG and AUDI's 1.8 T engines have 9,5:1 i comp and the crank out well over 250 without lowering comp in tuning kits available.
Strange what Cam choice, Intercooler ,correct ignition and 98 octane can do!!
