I bet he runs it on the street, I know I would.......I am not expecting my t5 to see much street time, I am not expecting it to cool as well as my 2276, 4" cylinders don't have alot of fins. I bet with water cooled heads it is pretty decent cooling.

Unless I'm mistaken those water cooled a/c heads are cast that way and not converted air -> water. Autocraft sold water cooled heads back in the day didn't they?

Possibly, but someone else on the forums either had a set of heads that had the center fins removed and a jackets welded on or knew someone who had. It is quite possible...

IIRC there were PDFs posted... it was in a magazine.

Could you use the Comp Elem from CB. I believe that you can get them with out the stud holes and you can drill them yourself as well as open the head up to what you need.

I believe that the area between the cylinders is hollow there as well as on most of the heads people consider streetable, so they would require welding as well. But I am not sure. Anybody know?

Check out these heads for the WBX from GWD: fully finned and quite streetable....

http://www.gwd-weiser.de/index2.htm

and check out News - Angebote - Tip (fairly at the bottom of the page...)

Should work fine (but I have no idea what they cost....)

I checked out the link and this appears to be what you referring to:

Looking at the pictures, it does indeed appear that they would work for a 101.6mm/4? bore?! Wonder what the cost is and how well they are made and cool? Obviously the ports are small, but they may have potential!

Here is the text that was beside the above pics. Maybe someone can translate?

The head I see is basicly a stock type head with a few more fins but no extra material above the intake ports & stock valve guide location. Cant really get bigger than 44 x 37 valves. & very poor flow numbers with those ports. Unless you weld above the ports. The o41 & 044 can be welded to make the same head, but with less fins. Whats the cost of those heads? Rocky

Amazing development! Very good news!
Thanks for bringing it to my attention Robin. Hadn't seen it myself.

I think I'll call them one of these days and ask for prices and what cylinder possibilities they provide as I think that 97mm would be the max in bore for supporting the max valve arrangement these heads offer.
Besides, Limbach engines did flew with 97mm Nikasils :D

Didn't someone score a set of these awhile back?

I don't know about scoring some of those, but I just scored some JE pistons and another set of 4" cylinders, I might pull my 2276 down and run the 82 crank in my wbx case......2659cc should be big enough........
