The really sad part....

...is that the first thing I thought of was a poor employee...being on the wrong end of the "pink stick"......like it didn't occour to me that you could be on the right end of it. You can tell what kind of year I have had. More power to ya if you have to stay after class for "advanced studies"....

well, this morning was the first time I've had that was daylight where I could work on anything... but now I have to go to work..

That carb is leaking gas really bad though...
bad enough to puddle under my bus...

Dstar... what was the name of the part that you said was leaking... not the plug.. the other part...
is this something I can buy seperately?? I need to fix that before I troubleshoot anymore...
It's getting gas, has good spark, and good compression, but it will not start. Just leak gas.

Even if I put the mixture screw in all the way, and back off the idle... it still gets nothing..

I don't understand... how could it work just fine on your bus, but then not work, leak gas, and need some serious adjustment to run on mine???

I have all the other elements in working order....I'm SO confused man!

One size doesn't fit all and a 1/4 turn twist isn't all that serious of an
adjustment. I set the secondary high so it would be easier for you to
adjust while it was still installed....

And, it IS possible that the box got banged around and the float is stuck open.

That is the only thing I can think of right now, especially since you said the aluminum plug over the fuel filter inlet was leaking also....

I've NEVER seen those leak! A ball peen hamer will seat it tho.

Damn UPS sucks!

Yeah sorry, I'm not trying to be a lazy ass about this

, I've just been in a crazy hurry...
I just got home from work and I'll check the book before I crash, but the stop screw for the second barrel is where the gas is coming from.
it's a pretty steady drip when the pump is on, which is running at 3.5psi

Well, I thought it didn't leak just sitting there, but when I got home a few mins ago, there was a good half pint of gas on the ground..
It's not still leaking I don't believe. There is no fuel being pumped and the gas on the edge of the puddle had already almost evaporated..
I checked underneath, and one of my exhaust nuts was a little loose and gas obviously had dripped out of the manifold... (then I torqued the nut)
It's also having trouble turning over, so I may need to pop the spark plugs out and see about gas in the cylinders... what you think?

Just finished my finals, and mostly, at work builds(of pc's) are piling up pretty fast for christmas and I've been having to work my ass off...

I guess the best thing to do now is to take it apart and unstick the
float by hand. All the indications are, that the float is stuck.

Can you use the other carb until you can get time to do this?
Time (and daylight!) always hampers projects for us "Po' Folks" without
a garage to work in.

Check your oil and see if the oil level has risen. Another indication that
the float is stuck and the gas is being gravity fed to the carb and filling
up the crankcase with gas.

Another not so good thang!

I'll be glad to help ya over the phone after work if you have the time
to sit down and take ths carb apart.

BTW, good luck on the finals! We'll keep our fingers and toes crossed!

Yep! Fills the cyls, then runs into the crankcase.
It's the reason for not turning over very well and not RUNNING also!
