newbie standard questions
How about a set of questions under thier own heading for 'run of the mill' questions. I know Ive pissed off a few of the truly knowledgable people on here with questions that I could have seached for. But the search is slow and you end up sifting through a load of unrelated stuff. If there was a section of the most asked questions for each part of the forum it might free up some more time for more serious questions, because while I dont claim to be knowledgable in the year or so that ive been a regular I dont know how many times Ive read "what engine will get me into the tens" or something similar.

know what?
Ask your question. Ther' ain't such thing like a 'stupid question'. IMHO you don't need to be "Mr-I-know-it-all-and-have-3,678,453-posts".
All our cars are unique (even if we keep 'em stock
)
Most people will come up with a link when your question (eventually) was discussed before.
So, screw it. Type yr question and hit submit (Dammit)

kelwa1,
yeah I know the faq has always been there just never really noticed, but thats not what im talking about. I mean another one with questions asked that refer to engines, suspension etc. not how to use the forum.

Just thought it would save a bit of time and repetitivness, how many times have you read 'if I have this engine and this gearbox how fast can I go'.
I normally get an answer to all my questions, but I know theyve been asked before.
No worries, just a suggestion.

Let me make the situation apparent for all. As the STF Admin, I have heard this request many times. It is an excellent idea! Couldn't agree more.
But, I am one guy and putting together a "common topics" page is a tremendous amount fo work. Since I have owned the board, it has been about all I can do to keep the place running and the porno kings and trolls out. I have a list of things I would like to implement on the board, including "common question" and "killer post" sections, but, thus far, time, resources and knowledge have not allowed me to get it done. As one guy, I just have so much to give.
Several of the moderators have done a great job at keeping their particular forums up-to-date and weeded of extraneous posts. Other moderators I hope will become more active in this area. But, please remember, moderator pay is ZERO $ plus my undying gratitude. We can only expect them to GIVE so much of their time and energy.
I offer the above not as excuses, but only to let folks know that it's not that many of the suggestions I receive aren't good ones, it's just that our resources are limited. So, until I find a way to implement more of your good ideas, please continue to struggle with the Search function and, after you search, don't be afraid to ask "dumb" questions.
Keep your suggestions coming. I really do put many of them on my list. Perhaps the new year will be one of STF advancement.

Here you go. Newbie Sticky
Hot, humid air is less dense than cooler, drier air. This can allow a golf ball to fly through the air with greater ease, as there won't be as much resistance on the ball.
