Crazy Idea? Fiero Front End?

Are you one of those confused people who can't make up their mind?

the 924 was a "de-evolution" of the 928 design
porsche engeneers designed the 928, then some of the corperate penny pinchers decided they should build a cheaper version of it from VW and Audi parts. many will say thet it turned out well, but its definatly not a 928.

The cut and paste front to rear transplant of the Citation front end in the rear of the Fiero is the motivation for my 1.8t transplant. It just shows it can be done.

I think I'll pass on a Chevette front end though!

One thing to note here is although the Held motorsports front suspension unit is made to fit a Fiero it isn't the same as a Fiero suspension. The geometry was improved to to provide good camber gain with suspension travel and reduced bump steer. It's actually very close to a true racing suspension and is offered as a handling upgrade to a stock Fiero. It should not be confused with a stock suspension.

One good thing is it's mounted in a tubular subframe and is more or less self contained. Sort of a modular suspension unit and should be adaptable to other vehicles with some fabrication.

Ackerman might be different unless you have the same wheelbase, but thats a minor point

Better check the track width. Fieros are pretty wide, 2" wider than Chevettes.
