1.8L with 94mm pistons

Post by Mr. Electric Wizard »

Is it worth it to replace the 1.8L pistons with the 94mm "dished" pistons to go from 1.8L to 2.0L?

Are you getting the P&Cys for free?
The machine work is what would set ya back the most $$$.

Nope...
and I'm getting ahead of myself... again!

I think this first time around I'll stick to the 1.8L!

I did notice that the price of 94mm dished are $75.00 cheaper though...
I wonder why?

So if machining a 1.8L to 2.0L (case and heads) is $75.00 or less
than I don't see any reason not to!

Don't even bother mating 2.0 (94mm) pistons with a 1.8 (66mm) crank. It will give a mile of deck height, something like 0.300-0.500". You'd have to cut down the cylinder, then the push rods, narrow the exhaust, the sheet metal, etc. Unless you like a real challenge, it's not cost-effective.
