I would not buy stuff from jcw becuase they don't make there own stuff so to have a profit margin they charge more. What size engine are you going to build? Below 100mm you can go for pretty much any maker, like AA automotive. 100mm or above Jake recommends nickes, but if you have a budget stick to like 96 from AA automotive.

Contact AA Autoproducts in Cali for the best *cheap stuff*(Chin SInns, Chin EEs).

FOr MAhle, buy from the other vendors in the rags.

Use 96KBs and a set of bored factory cylinders. The new ones suck the big one.

JCW doesn't support the VW hobby- We help make them rich. Buy from someone that knows your engine and is struggeling to make it while the big guys pounce on the customers like Prey in the wild!

Approximately, how much does it cost to have the stock (94mm) barrels machined for 96mm pistons? Can most machine shops do this?

Good luck!
Might as well git ready to ship them to Cali.....

Don't know where you're from, but here in the SE, we can't find anyone to quote a
price for machine work on Vw parts, EXPECIALLY Type IV!

IF anyone has any suggestions, PLEASE post them!

It requires a "Torque plate" made specifically for the job...

Send them to Rimco, they do some of mine when I get behind.

ALL of them have issues of some sort.... AND you need a grinder to make them fit!

Hi. I'm using Europeans cylinders along with the KB's 96's...no problems so far.
