Which Case

If I am looking to pick up an engine case from a junkyard or swap meet from a type 4 to do a type 4 to type 1 conversion which one should I be looking for? I understand that there were different features on cases depending if they came from a 411/412, 914 or type 2 and the features differ depending on the size of the engine 1700, 1800, or 2L.
