Scanned Magazine Picture to discuss in forum?

Can I display a picture that was scanned out of a magazine to discuss on a forum?

I really don't know the legality of this and I wouldn't want to cause trouble for the forum or myself..

I think as long as your not slandering them, trying to claim its your idea or photo, or making money off of it they won't mind. also always quote where the photo came from too.
