Heat

Post by KPCassella »

I'm looking for heater alternative ideas. I know the old gas heater is the standard but I'm looking for something reliable for the daily driver I'm building.
Is there a company making new gas heaters?
Or do I have to get an old one and rebuild it?
Which option is cheaper?
How about some radical solutions, like an electric heater (elements mounted under the dash or under the seats or something)?

Let me know if you've tried something - what worked and what didn't.

Thanks.

Kent the old gas heater is the standard for good reason. If you pick up one used and invest in a rebuild you will have many years of happy motoring from it.
As far a electric heaters are concerned immagine how many watts of power it would take to supply an adequet volume of heat and ask yourself where this output will be obtained from a 12V system.
Heaterman (Ark Marvis) is the man to see for restoration and repair. Look on the 181 Worldwide Registry Classifieds for used heaters. Good luck. Bob Ingman
