Lowering rear suspension, is it 1.5" per spline?

Post by peterjager »

when moving the arms on each side to lower, is it 1 1/2 per spline or less?

Need to lower rear 4.5 inches to be almost as low as the front.

All help is greatly appreciated, Peter

As far as I remember each spline is equal to 6 cms. or 2" 3/8, now if you want to go for changes of one centimeter you have to move one outer spline to the right and one inner spline to the left. The torsion bars are 44 splines outside and 40 splines inside. By playing with both ends of the bars you can almost get any highth.

There's no universal rule of thumb, the length and diameter of the bars, rear track width, and vehicle weight will all enter into it. Around 1½" per outer spline is as good a guess as any.

Thats what I hear the "general rule" is.. 1.5 inches an outter spline.. Results may vary of course..

Playing with both the inner splines and outer spines, can get you any height (exceptions of course like that wild huge red oval)
