High performance Fuel injection.....

Post by mexican98bug »

Hi everyone, I´m planing to install a bigger and powerfull engine in my 98 mexican sedan, maybe it would be a 1915 or 2275 cc. Can I reprogram the stock ECU and change the injectors for a bigger ones. The Ecu numbers stamped on top are: 191 905 359 B USA XBD. Or i just need to switch to carbs instead of FI. I can take any picture of the car if you are interested in.

Thanks in advance....

you can not reprogram the ecu, but replace it instead, look at an sds unit, from what i understand with what you have pretty much will drop right in. You will probably have to change the injectors, no big deal, whatever you do dont go back in time and switch to carbs.

Or, you can use your existing ecu and purchase a piggy back module who lets you tune the system via a laptop.
Here is a link to a cheap company based in South Africa.
