Tie rods needed

Tie rods needed

I am doing a complete cut and turn restore of my 73 Thing front end. Bot of my tie rods are nasty rusted inside. I have new tie rod ends, clamps and nuts. What ai really need is a like new right side tie rod 181 415 802

Unless you need 100% 181 parts, Beetle tie rods are exactly the same length.

so the questions remains. What is the difference of a 181 and Bug/Ghia right tie rod? I am going to pull the right tie rod from my 73 bug donor to get to the bottom of this... RW

The 181 tie rod may be "beefier", but in two rebuilts I have used the Beetle part without problems.
