It is fueil injected, has just been tuned up and has been running like crap for months. We let it sit for a couple of weeks and then it ran perfect, now it's back to flooding out when you stop and uses gas like crazy! I've checked everything I could think of any suggestions?

You may have a bad injector that is constantly open, this usually happens when it is grounding out itself. Take the injector plugs off one at a time and check for contineauity of both terminals of the injector to the body case of the injector, and see if you have contineauity. Make sure you test both teminals on each injector. The one that does have it REPLACE THAT INJECTOR! -nick

It is most probably either leaking injectors...and even more probably a bad thermotime switch on the cold start valve. The cold start valve will not run when you turn off the ignition, but can cause hard starting in hot weather, because it instantly will turn on when the ignition key comes on if the thermotime switch is bad. Are you sure its flooding? or just very hard to start when hot. That can be caused by either an out of spec CHT...saturating with heat and causing poor mixture upon restarting...and it can very frequently be caused by a bad fuel presure regulator. It must hold residual pressure for at least 15 minutes after turning off key, or else vapor forms in the fuel line and cause the equivalent of vapor lock. Check it by putting a guage on the fuel loop, and watching how long it takes to drop when you turn off the engine. Ray
