Perfect Power Group Buy
Guys, I know 3 or 4 guys who are interested in buying the MIC3 engine management setup from Perfect Power out of South Africa. Their website is http://www.perfectpower.com If you are interested in running fuel injection for the same price as a new set of carbs, consider this setup carefully. Under group pricing, you could buy their EMS for around $350-400 shipped to your doorstep. This includes the ECU, wiring harness, MAP & TPS sensor, and manual. I only know of a few guys who have used this equipment and got positive reviews. It's still an unknown quantity, but if it works as advertised, it's a great buy. If you are interested, let me know. To qualify for group buy status, 10 buyers are needed.

Perfect Power Group Buy
I'm at the tail end of the group buy. I am consulting with the engineer at Perfect Power regarding their injector drivers. Once I resolve this final issue, I will start collecting payment.
If we break the 30 unit mark, we will get a further discount of $25 to $259 per unit. So, if you are interested, speak up NOW. Since Perfect Power is negotiating with a US representative now, in the furuter the MIC3 will no longer be offered at <$300. After this group buy, the price will jump to $799 retail, $599 group buy price.
Regards,
Jay

In terms of simplicity & flexibility how does the PowerPerfect MIC3 system compare to the Simply Digital System(SDS)? From browsing the perfpower webpage, I see that the MIC3 is a fuel & ignition management system....can the igintion control function be bypassed and only use fuel management until I'm ready to step up to ignition control also? When stepping up to ignition control does this mean I will have to install some type of Hal, or magnetic pickup for a distributorless ignition setup or will it work with a 009 & JACOBS or MSD ignition.
Thanks,
Derrick from NC

Derrick, I wouldn't run the fuel injection alone. Why? Part of the advantage of aftermarket engine management is the huge advance in ignition. Experts have said that fuel injection alone isn't a huge advance over a quality downdraft carb. However, an adjustable ignition curve can give you a 3D map, which is virtually impossible to achieve with a distributor. You can run the MIC3 off your distributor, triggering it with points or a Petronix/Compufire. The MIC3 then fires the coil at the proper time. This method is very easy (and cheap)to implement and you get 90% of the advantages. For distributorless, you will definitely need to spend more time and dollars. For newbies, I suggest you stick with the locked distributor and your Jacobs or MSD box.

Sorry for 2 followup posts, but here is part of an email I just wrote. It's my opinion of the MIC3. Sorry for the length.
>>>>>>>>>>>>
If the PP MIC3 works as advertised, then it's a very good value. Does it compete with the SDS, Wolf, and Haltech models? Not a chance. The MIC3 is a very simple system with no frills. It does have some advatages over SDS, suprisingly. These advantages include data logging, onboard support for boosted applications, and ability to run distributor or waste spark ignition by only changing the options in the software. The MIC3 uses a robust Motorola onchip MAP sensor and peak and hold injector drivers. However, it doesn't have support for knock sensing (not a desire for me), and it cannot control wastegates, water injection, anti-lag, or any other external accilliaries, like Haltech's PWM outputs.
If I had to describe the MIC3, I would say it's an advanced, infinitely adjustable carburetor with good a good ignition system. If we get to 30 units, which I have a feeling will be the case, the per unit price drops to $259.
My honest opinion is that you get what you pay for. The other guys have great tech support, and well refined software and interface. Additionally, the other models have the advantages of more features. The biggest asset to the MIC3 is it's pricing. However, in a show of greed, this low pricepoint will be eliminated soon by the US Perfect Power rep.

You guys are missing the point. Who are you going to contact for information when you cannot figure out how to tune this thing or need service parts. That is what you are paying for when you buy a product from an authorized distributor or dealer. You are getting their service and experience in return.
I am not saying anyone here is not capable of figuring out this system, but I do this for a living and I still have to call Kevin for answers to my questions.
Do yourselves a favor, buy from one of the dealers or Pefect Power USA direct, and stand confident you are going to be able to get the right answers to your questions from the people who actually know what they are talking about.
Continue with this scam and you might find yourself on the outside looking in when you need help.
You are not hurting anyone but yourselves in the end.
