WTD 914 speedometer

Post by wellington »

Looking for a 914 speedo, not sure what year it is from. I prefer a 120mph unit with trip meter. Only the gauge is required, as it will replace mine as the odometer has quit. Mine is presently a 150 mph with trip meter. Or will buy the bezel to replace mine, as I've heard mine can be repaired, but I'm sure the bezel will be destryed when I open it up. Thanks.

Check the tech article at Pelican Parts on how to repair it.

Thanks Geoff, I've seen the article on how to repair it. I'm prepared to takle it, however I can't see getting the bezel off and back on and it looking factory. That is why I also requested a bezel (new). I can't seem to find one listed on Pelican's site. (blind?)

The trick to getting a bezel off and on without making it look like crap is to get just the right screwdriver to pry at the edge (try every one you have) and lots of patience. LOTS of patience. After you put it back on and crimp it, sand it and paint it, it'll look fine.

Wellington, I have a set like that shown on pelican Parts. Mine has the glass faces not plastic as some are. I need $100 for the set.Bob Ingman [email protected]
